BRIDGE BACK INITIATIVE

Support Services for Incarcerated Parents & Reentry Success
In Partnership with Mothers Bail Bond | Los Angeles County

Building the Bridge Between Incarceration and Home

Being a parent doesn’t stop when someone is behind bars. Bridge Back is a comprehensive support network that helps incarcerated parents stay involved in their children’s lives, complete critical court-ordered programs, and prepare for a strong, stable return home.

With support from Mothers Bail Bond, we work directly with jails, social workers, and families across Los Angeles County to ensure no parent has to navigate the system alone.

Our Mission

Incarceration often breaks down more than just physical freedom—it can sever vital ties between parents and children. Bridge Back exists to keep those bonds intact by offering practical help, advocacy, and reentry resources to support long-term family reunification.

A Parent’s Perspective

“Bridge Back kept me connected to my daughter even when the system tried to erase me. I didn’t feel forgotten. I felt like a father again.”
– Program Participant, Men’s Central Jail

What We Do

  • Parenting Class Access & Completion Support
We help incarcerated parents enroll in and complete parenting courses required by courts or child welfare agencies—even from within the facility.

  • Liaison Services with Social Workers
Our team acts as a neutral, informed bridge between incarcerated parents and caseworkers to ensure accurate communication, timely document exchange, and meaningful parental participation in family decisions.

  • Court-Compliance Documentation
We help parents stay on track with court orders by documenting progress, classes, and counseling for family court and custody hearings.

  • Reentry Resource Planning
From transitional housing to employment and mental health support, we connect parents with the services they need for a successful and stable return to their families.

  • Family Engagement Coaching
We prepare parents for future reunification by offering guidance on communication with children, trauma-sensitive parenting, and trust rebuilding.
